A year later....

Mon Aug 31, 2009, 2:24 PM
So it's been a year since my last journal post (yes, to the day) about how much I've been shooting blah blah blah and I figured I may as well take the opportunity to do the same today! I do have a small series in the works as well as quite a few stand alone shots I finally got around to developing. I recently developed a roll of Ilford Delta 400 that i cracked sometime last summer, as well as a Kodak Gold 200 that replaced the Ilford when it was completed. The last shots from the Delta were around Christmas '08, and the Kodak went in shortly thereafter. In any case, they are developed, and the better shots have been selected for scanning. All that's left to do now is scan them in and post them...and we'll see how long that takes. Today and tomorrow I'm working in Escondido (about 40 miles-ish from where i live) and then Wednesday I have a prior engagement with a rodent of Anaheim fame. In other words, it may be a bit before these shots are scanned and ready for your supposed viewing pleasure.

Normally I'd show you a few shots from around dA-ville that I've come to enjoy greatly, but I'm sadly posting this from work, and my thumbnail list is on my home computer. Alas... :-p

Hello

Sun Aug 31, 2008, 10:08 AM
I've been shooting a lot recently. I did some work for a bridal shower, and the resulting wedding as well. I've done a lot of work for myself, too! I was able to bum a friend's setup for a little while and did a lot of shooting, including an alcoholism series that I'll post asap.

There's been a lot of other stuff going on in my personal life this past year, but it seems those particular bit o' drama have come to a close...to be replaced by other, happier bits o' drama =)
Hopefully, this will mean I'll be posting more stuff here.

As payment for the work I did on the wedding shower, a scanner was purchased for me...which means I'll be able to post some of the shots I've taken with my Minolta. Hooray!

Nikon D70 -or- Am I Too Frivolous?

MY JOURNAL!!!

...:mwahaha: ...

Well then.

I just (hopefully) reserved my first DSLR, a used Nikon D70.
Lets just hope I stick with this more than I stuck with my music career. Had a few thousand dollars invested in that, as well, and now my horns sit...and sit...and sit.
Anywho - I'm not %100 certain that i will get it, as the offer was posted in a forum on Nikonians, but I emailed the author of the post, and am anxiously awaiting his return communication.

We shall see.....

In other news, I haven't been exactly here of late, but I have started to change that, ever so slowly, like the tortoise eating his morning helping of vegetables and oppression. Where I'm going with this soliloquy of idiocy, is that I have but a few images to feature this time around, but will share them with you nonetheless.

Enjoy:heart:

Themes and Old Features

Tue Feb 20, 2007, 9:21 PM

MY JOURNAL!!!

...mwahaha: ...

...
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, too.
It seems I have chosen a poor month for a 'frosty' theme, since it's difficult for me to find inspiration for it in 70-80 degree weather. It did rain the past couple of days...but it still wasn't cold.
In better news, some of my unwillingness to do submit will soon be disappearing. My main concern was that the wee bit of photoshopping I do was taking too much time to accomplish on my computer...but i should have my new one all put together and set up this weekend...yay!
mmmm....new hotness.....
It's no record breaking computer, but it's a far cry better than what I'm running on now.

Also...I'm looking forward to my March theme...I may actually be able to get that done, and done well!

I have compiled the list of my 12, monthly themes! Yay me! And it's up to you to puzzle out their meanings! Yay you! You can do it!

January: Lambent
February: Frosty
March: A to B
April: Natural Wonders
May: Cultural Phenomenon
June: Unnatural Wonders
July: Aural Inspiration
August: Quoi...?
September: “Look...haaarder”
October: MONSTROSITY!!
November: All Made Up
December: Bliss

And now...to recycle last journal's features, for I have yet to make a new list.

Of Resolutions And Apologies

Mon Jan 1, 2007, 2:53 PM

MY JOURNAL!!!

... :mwahaha: ...

Well then.
Happily we drift upon the wings of a new year...
...?
Hopefully happily, at least!
I have done a great job of convincing myself i have not the time for art and photography recently, as I am a rather convincing person, or so I'm told. I shall put that idea to bed, for now, and attempt to regain a small position in the field once more. I shall devote myself, monthly, to a particular theme and turn out no less than two photographs (hey, the best resolutions are the realistic ones, yes?) and post them up for...someone, no doubt. This i resolve to do. I have a total of ten themes in mind so far, which should keep me busy for quite some time.

My apologies to anyone dissapointed in my recent lack of enthusiasm for art, and my absence from...well, nearly everywhere. Also, and especially, to =cosfrog for my loss of control of =SDDeviants. I'll try gettin' that back on track when I can.

See you on the flip side!

A little late for these entries, I know, but I've been "busy." So there.
